IN THIS LESSON, YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO APPLY SENSORY STIMULATION TO YOUR LECTURES

I designed this workshop to enhance professors' engagement in synchronous Zoom lessons.

To take a more holistic approach, consider that learning engages all of our senses: sight, smell, touch, sound, and taste.

While not all learners use these senses in the same way, incorporating multiple senses offers more people the opportunity to engage with content in a manner that feels natural to themTo take a more holistic approach, consider that learning engages all of our senses: sight, smell, touch, sound, and taste.

While some learning is conscious, learners also learn subconsciously.

Conscious learning occurs when learners actively engage with new content, whether in a classroom or via Learning Management Systems.

On the other hand, when students step away from the screen, they can subconsciously process the information they've learned. This is why many people say they get their best ideas in the shower. Subconscious learning takes place when learners have moments to relax or engage in different activities.

How can we encourage learners to step away from the screen? We can engage all of their senses by encouraging conversations with others, taking a walk during a lesson, observing their surroundings, listening to podcasts, enjoying music, and more.
